The Church in Society Committee is responsible for ministries that advocate dignity and justice for all people, especially the poor and powerless, work for peace and reconciliation among nations, and seek responsible care and use of God's creation. The committee engages the congregation in study, reflection, and action towards those goals which are in conformity with God's will for the world as revealed in Jesus Christ. The committee seeks ecumenical relationships that foster justice, service, and care of creation.
The Youth Committee works in support of and along with the youth director and pastors in providing ministries to the young people of our congregation. In this partnership the Youth Committee will take an active roll in the planning, preparation, and volunteer work required in this congregation's youth ministries.
The Youth Education Committee is responsible for providing educational experiences for members of the congregation. The committee shall review and coordinate education programs; provide for recruiting, training, and support of teachers; and encourage attendance at educational events. The Sunday School Superintendent is a member of this committee.
The Fellowship Committee is responsible for fostering growth amongst the members of EPLC through social events. The fellowship committee plans outings and events including baseball games and the church picnic.
The Adult Education Committee is responsible for the continuing education of members at EPLC. This committee plans and organizes educational programs and events to be offered to the congregation.
The Financial Management Committee is responsible for preparing and presenting the annual budget to the Congregational Council and the congregation, exercising oversight of all the financial affairs of the congregation, including the management of investments and insurance, promoting responsible financial stewardship, and meeting all financial obligations and benevolence commitments in a prudent, timely manner. The treasurer of the congregation shall serve as a member of this committee.
The Outreach Committee is responsible for implementing ministries that attend to the unchurched, inactives, and new residents. The Committee will seek outreach opportunities for the congregation to be the presence of Christ in the community, nation, and globe through the support of benevolence and mission efforts.
The Property Committee is responsible for the proper care and maintenance of all facilities and groups of the congregation.
The Stewardship Committee is responsible for promoting the biblical concept of stewardship as a way of life. It also leads and encourages the congregation to make and grow in commitments of time, talent and treasures.
The Wellness Committee is responsible for the care and wholeness of individuals, the congregational community, and the wider neighborhood. Special attention will be given to the hospitalized, shut-ins, families with newborns, the grieving, and those in crisis.
The Worship, Music & Arts Committee is responsible for the worship life of the congregation. It provides for, train and supervise liturgical assistants, nursery services, greeters, acolytes, ushers, and altar guild members. The committee will assist and support the music ministry of the congregation and encourage expression of the Gospel through the arts.
