Edison Park Lutheran Church Preschool is a developmentally integrated early childhood program that provides experiences and activities that encourage a child to grow socially, emotionally, physically, intellectually, and spiritually. The daily activities and experiences encourage a child to learn through observation, experimentation, and discovery. The teachers guide the children through these activities to help the children develop self-confidence, respect and consideration of others, problem solving and reasoning skills. We also educate the children in Christian beliefs through Bible stories, songs, dramatic play, and a weekly chapel service.
Edison Park Lutheran Church Preschool has a morning program for children who are four years old by September 1, 2008. The program is a four day program, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings 9:00 - 12:00 noon.
The afternoon program is for children who are three and one-half years old by September 1, 2008. The class meets four days, Tuesday through Friday, from 1:00 - 3:15pm. Both programs begin the week of Labor Day and continue until the first week of June 2008.
The school is licensed by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services and the City of Chicago. Enrollment is limited to 20 children in the morning class and 14 students in the afternoon class. The classes are taught by certified, experienced teachers and assistants. In addition, a parent of a child in the class volunteers each day. Parents volunteer to help one day per month.
Registration forms can be obtained from the Church office, located on the second floor of the Church building (6626 N. Oliphant Avenue). Completed forms, must be accompanied by a $200.00 nonrefundable fee. Applications will be accepted until the class is filled. Acceptance is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Edison Park Lutheran Preschool admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school.
