The high school years are a time when many certainties fall away and faith is often brought to serious questioning. As if that were not enough, this is taking place before a background of academic pressure, changing relationships, growing responsibility and freedom, and an uncertain future. The purpose of the Senior High Ministry at Edison Park Lutheran Church is to celebrate with youth in their successes, support them in failures, and provide a safe environment in which they can openly explore their faith and discover Christ present in their lives. Senior High students meet Wednesday evenings. These meetings, which are held from 6:00 - 7:30pm, could be filled with any number of activities which may include watching movies, Bible studies, playing games, open discussions, or listening to music. These evening meetings are always a time to gather in friendship with one another and explore our faith.
Outside of the regular meeting times the Senior High group has several other events planned throughout each year. In the spring the group hosts their annual Pancake Breakfast. In the summer of 2007 several members of the high school program will be traveling to Stony Lake Lutheran Camp in New Era Michigan for a weeklong Service Trip. In addition, few of our young women will be taking part in a women's canoe trip to the Boundary Waters of Northern Minnesota.
